Claude arrives inside Excel and PowerPoint: what changes
Since March 2026, Claude has been available as a native add-in for Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. This is not a sidebar chatbot that suggests text: Claude operates directly inside the file — reading data, modifying cells, creating charts, generating slides and maintaining shared context between both applications within the same conversation.
The underlying model is Opus 4.6, Anthropic's most powerful, with a context window of one million tokens. In practical terms, Claude can have a spreadsheet with thousands of rows and an 80-slide presentation open simultaneously, reasoning across both without losing track.

What Claude can do in Excel: beyond formulas

The Team plan at $30 per user per month includes access to the add-in, Claude Code and all collaborative features including shared Skills.
